Epocrates MedTools Steroids Converter
Here is an example of
converting one milligram
of dexamethasone to an
equivalent amount of
prednisolone.
Such a conversion is quite common
specially in the case of
inconvenient dexamethasone syrup
strength when we want to give high dose
such as children with severe croup!
This is quite better than
the
steroid converter provided by Pepid.
  • One of several MedTools offered by Epocrates is the corticosteroid converter.
  • Very handy and easy to use at the bedside.
  • The tool can be conveniently accessed from the "my" tab home page of
Epocrates products and is shipped as an optional free added value with of any
their products (e.g. The free Epocrates Rx).
  • Even if you do not agree with their conversion factor you can modify it as
    shown in the screenshot below.
  • The application can not be downloaded alone and must be associated with
other Epocrates bundles like the Epocrates Essentials.
  • A similar free product for topical corticosteroids and inhaled steroids available
    from the same developer.
  • This program is also categorized in the Drug Guides category.
